About Course

You do not need to be a technical expert to start improving your store’s SEO.

SEO means helping people find your website through search engines. In this course, you will learn how to choose useful keywords, make your store pages clearer, answer customer questions, and check whether your work is helping.

Start with one product and one collection. A collection is simply a page that groups related products, such as “Writing Desks.” You will improve those two pages as you move through the course.

The lessons include clear examples, simple visuals, and one small task at a time. When a task needs technical help, you will learn what to ask for. You do not need to edit website code to complete the beginner course.

What You Will Be Able To Do

  • Understand how customers search for your products.
  • Choose a useful page for each kind of search.
  • Improve product names, descriptions, and collection pages.
  • Plan helpful articles without publishing every day.
  • Check links, page clarity, and important search settings.
  • Track a few useful numbers and decide what to improve next.

Your Practice Store

Throughout this course, we use Cedar Home, a fictional desk store. Its examples include a Writing Desks collection and an Oak Writing Desk product. Product dimensions, search numbers, and other example details are invented for teaching. Use verified information from your own store when doing the exercises.

How To Use This Course

Read the idea, look at the example, and complete the small task. Keep your notes in one spreadsheet or document. Begin with one collection and one product that already have accurate information.

If you have Google Search Console, use it when a lesson asks for search data. It is Google’s tool for seeing how your website appears in search. If you do not have access, write “Access needed” and keep working on your pages. You can ask your website manager to help with setup.

Lessons 5.3, 5.4, and 5.6 are optional deeper checks. Read the simple explanations, then ask a website manager or developer to check the details when needed. You can finish your page improvements while those checks are pending.

SEO is ongoing work. Completing a checklist does not guarantee a particular ranking or sale. Focus first on making useful improvements you can verify.
