Meditating On God’s Word For Peaceful Sleep

Welcome to our prayer series. This is your time with the Lord as we meditate on his word together.

Find a comfortable position as you prepare to fall into deep sleep.

Close your eyes gently, taking a few deep cleansing breaths.

Feel the tension releasing with each exhale.

Clear your mind of any distractions, be still and let’s begin.

Imagine yourself surrounded by a warm and loving light, enveloped in God’s embrace.

With each breath, feel His presence drawing nearer encompassing you into a big warm hug.

As you melt into his arms, release any worries and burdens weighing heavy on your heart.

This is your time with the Lord.

Let yourself fall asleep into His arms as we pray Psalm 4:8 over you.

“In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.”

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

Heavenly Father, we pray over every single person who’s listening to this right now. May your love captivate them as they lie down and fall asleep.

May you release angelic dreams from Heaven, giving them divine insight into your heart. May they know just how precious they are, for they are fearfully and wonderfully made. May you awaken their inner child, renew their minds of any limiting beliefs and allow them to dream again.

May you bring every negative thought captive and cleanse it with the blood of Jesus. Break down any strongholds as we cast all burdens upon Jesus, our great comforter. May the peace beyond our understanding  fill the atmosphere as their body begins to doze off.

May you soothe any weary heart as you oh Lord are their greatest counselor. You alone are their refuge and strength. We declare all fear and insecurities to be wiped away, that it no longer has a sting on them.

Father God, we call upon your angels to encamp them as they sleep. Restore to them what the enemy has stolen, impart in them heavenly dreams as you oh God will reveal to them your purpose and plans in the days to come.

As you promise, you are their great provider, defender and comforter. In this time with you, may you release your sweet presence, surrounding them with such peace and security.

Once again, we declare,

“In peace I will both lie down and sleep;  for you alone, my dear LORD,  make me dwell in safety.”

Rest now dear friend, be assured of God’s unfailing love and allow it to penetrate your heart and mind. May His word be a gentle lullaby, carrying you into a night of peaceful slumber.

Sleep soundly, knowing that God is with you always. Sweet dreams.
