Frequently Asked Questions
It’s a week-by-week view of the cash you expect to receive and pay over the next quarter. Each week starts with the previous week’s closing cash, adds receipts, and subtracts payments. It’s short enough to stay realistic and long enough to show a shortfall while you can still fix it.
Profit measures whether your sales exceeded your costs. Cash measures what has actually landed in or left your bank account. A business can be profitable on paper and still run short, because of slow-paying customers, inventory bought up front, tax bills, or loan payments. This planner tracks cash only.
Start in Forecast settings and enter your opening bank cash, your first week’s start date, and a minimum cash buffer. Then enter expected receipts and payments in Weekly forecast, in the week the money will actually reach or leave your account. Use Load worked example to see a completed forecast first.
Include cash when it moves, not when you invoice or order. Receipts might be store payouts, wholesale payments, and other cash coming in. Payments might be inventory, advertising, payroll, rent and operating costs, taxes, debt payments, and owner draws. Don’t include depreciation. If your store payouts are already net of processing fees, don’t deduct those fees again.
