Ingredients

  • 2 cups finely chopped cabbage

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 2 greens onions, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 lb ground chicken

  • 30-40 wonton wrappers

  • 1/4 tsp white pepper

  • Small bowl of water for sealing

Directions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped cabbage, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, and white pepper. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Lay out a few wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the chicken mixture in the center of each wrapper.
  • Dip your finger in the bowl of water and moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper. Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, making sure to press out any air bubbles and seal the edges tightly. You can also fold the two opposite corners of the triangle together and press to seal, forming a more traditional wonton shape.
  • Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all the filling is used up.
  • Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Gently add the wontons in batches, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook for 4-6 minutes, or until they float to the surface and the wrapper becomes translucent. Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons and drain well.
  • Serve your chicken wontons hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, or a mixture of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Enjoy!
